Introduction / What is Open ASP?

The goal of the Open Applications Services Provider (Open ASP) Project is development of the Customer Relationship Management system to enable easy gathering, analyzing and utilizing of valuable business data for enterprises in and out of Armenia. Using the Open ASP system businesses will be able gather and analyze marketing information to increase quality of their service, streamline operations and make better business decisions at the minimal cost.

The core idea of any ASP is basic elimination of locally installed software and data storage on the user’s computers. All transactions and data storage is done on remote servers located at ASPs facilities to which users login using a secure Internet connection and an Internet browser

At the fist stage we have localized the phpESP(http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpesp/) based on PHP scripts to let non-technical users create surveys, administer surveys, gather results, view statistics. All parts are managed online after database initialization. Using the tool practically any business will be able to develop a rudimentary CRM capabilities like: Databases of current and potential customers and their major preferences.

The phpESP software is deployed by its creators at the (http://phpesp.sourceforge.net).

The Open ASP project intends to use phpESP and enhance it capabilities with: (a) statistical data analysis and data mining tools, (b) graphical data representation,(c) improve capabilities to maintain large amounts of customer data,.

Get involved / What is in it for me?

One often hears that information and relationships with customers is the most important business assets. How can Armenian benefit maximally from improved information capabilities provided by technology? What is the information that provides value to the businesses and why is it valuable? How to obtain information at affordable cost? How to analyze the information to provide a ground for sound business decisions?

Open ASP project is an effort to find the best answers to these questions and apply them to Armenian reality.
